Abstract: Vortex beams, characterized by their unique property of carrying orbital angular momentum, hold significant promise for applications in cutting-edge fields, such as high-capacity optical communications, information encryption, and super-resolution imaging. In particular, partially coherent vortex beams have attracted considerable attention due to their advantages in modulating complex optical fields. As a form of partially coherent light, random lasers offer a novel approach for generating vortex beam fields with complex structures. In this study, a liquid crystal random laser enhanced by gold nanoparticles was used to generate complex vortex beams. Furthermore, this study explored image edge enhancement techniques, including isotropic and anisotropic edge enhancement, utilizing random lasers as light sources. This work not only establishes a foundation for the application of random lasers in generating complex vortex beams but also paves the way for their utilization in image edge enhancement.
